As the 2012 festival season reaches an end, it also reaches its climax with our largest and favourite annual contract the Goodwood Revival Meeting.
The event in its 15th year is the world’s most popular historic motor race meeting and the only event of its kind to be staged entirely in the nostalgic time capsule of the 1940s, 50s and 60s. We are delighted to play a part in the delivery of this event as it allows us to continue providing traditional canvas marquees which the company first began offering in 1946. These stunning marquees are becoming more and more difficult to come by as hire companies move away from canvas in favour of less expensive modern materials. We are now one of only a handful of companies left in the UK with the means and resources to still offer such time honoured structures on this scale. Our involvement with the Revival entails providing over 4 acres of marquees and temporary structures with a very busy 4 week build up to the event. Requiring the delivery of over 1000 sheets of ply flooring, 6 miles of rope, over 3000 stakes and end to end over 3.5 kilometres of coconut matting. Fortunately the weather was very kind this year and we were able to finish our main contractual agreements with days to spare enabling us to lend a hand in other areas. Let’s hope things go so smoothly on the take down! Read more about the event here: Access All Areas Magazine Article
